PARTY DETAILS as told by Shawna…
I was so excited to collaborate with HWTM on this party! I throw many holiday parties and decided to do a rainbow party in the spirit of St. Patricks day for my daughter and her friends. I chose to use the Retro Rainbow printables — it was such a treat when they arrived, gorgeous and ready to go! Having the “printables” already printed and precut allowed me a lot of extra time to craft decor for the party!
I was inspired by Shop Sweet LuLu when I spotted a rainbow backdrop on their site using tissue fringe. I decided to hang the fringe in front of a window to allow natural light to shine through like a rainbow. I made felt stuffed clouds that I hung with fishing line. We had a lot of colorful balloons including the fun large confetti balloons from Shop Sweet LuLu!
I created colorful yarn pom poms for a garland to hang from the back of the chairs along with the Retro Rainbow decorative wraps. I also used pom poms on top of party hats and on the table’s chandelier centerpiece.
I was lucky to find fabric that coordinated with the Retro Rainbow printables that I used on the dessert table and created rainbow party crowns for the girls.
I was able to customize a sign that read ‘Somewhere over the rainbow, blue birds fly’ and I added little blue birds throughout the party! I loved the die cut clouds and used them on gold sticks so that it looked liked shimmering gold under the rainbow. I also used the die cut clouds in the cupcakes and hanging from the table’s chandelier!
We had a lot of rainbow colored desserts in front of the tissue fringe backdrop including gorgeous rainbow cake pops, rainbow candy Kabobs, rainbow sugar cookies, and cupcakes and candy with Retro Rainbow custom tent cards in front of them.
The girls made rainbow bead necklaces, played with rainbow ribbon dancers and played dress up with the crowns, candy necklaces and colorful rainbow hair pieces that they braided.
