PARTY DETAILS, as told by Holly…
With the warm springtime weather, I decided to set up a springtime playdate for my daughters. Since they absolutely LOVE strawberry shortcake, I decided to put a little twist on an old classic and make them a Strawberry Lemonade Stand. The girls had an absolute blast taking turns selling lemonade from their stand in the park and sampling the treats. It was the perfect little springtime outing.
Decorations
I designed Strawberry Shortcake themed printables to accent the rustic wood and bright lemons. I enlisted the help of my “handy with tools” husband to craft a lemonade stand to use. I wanted the decor to be bright and cheerful with the lemons and the cute strawberry accents, but also old fashioned and traditional. I found some adorable berry baskets to hold the strawberries and tied them with red and white baker’s twine. I also made little strawberry buckets out of small red buckets as mini centerpieces.
Food & Drinks
The girls enjoyed fresh strawberries and Easy Peasy Pink Lemonade Squeezy (with a little pink food coloring for extra pinkness) of course. They also ate Strawberry cupcakes with cream cheese frosting, Red Velvet Strawberry shaped cake pops and strawberry shortcake in mason jars. The little berry spoons tied to the jars were my favorite detail.
Attire
The adorable Strawberry Shortcake dresses were made by one of my favorite children’s clothing boutiques, Lover Dovers. They matched the decor perfectly and the girls really felt like little princesses in them.
