PARTY DETAILS, as told by Tracy

We celebrated Eliza’s 2nd birthday with a simple, but very sweet family picnic!  With lots of watermelon, sweet treats and the most perfect May weather, we set up Eliza’s picnic party in a neighboring field.

My goal with this party was to keep it simple and be resourceful.  My main purchase was the adorable chalkboard print from Dear Lillie.  The rest of the items were gathered from my house as well as my parents’ home.  The red Pottery Barn table came straight from our playroom.  I covered it with a handmade white eyelet table cloth, used our silver, and filled a kitchen glass pitcher with tulips. Eliza loved having her own special table!  The garden bench was built by my father and borrowed from my parents’ back porch.  The glass milk bottles were recycled Starbucks frappuccinos and the drink bottles were recycled Stewart sodas.

I designed the invitations and party decor with the help of my talented mother-in-law.  She hand painted the watermelon with watercolors and I digitally added it to the collection.  It was sweet to see our family talents sprinkled into Eliza’s party.  With my mom’s sewing, my dad’s woodworking and my mother-in-law’s painting, the little touches made a simple field picnic turn into a very special evening.  Happy Birthday, Eliza B!  We love you so!
