{Tea for Two} Tee Time & Tea Party Birthday
Tea for two, and two for tea. Tiffany Kuo of Shifting Status Kuo was inspired by the color of the year, Radiant Orchid, to create this {Tea for Two} Tee Time & Tea Party Birthday. Since most of the little guests were boys, Tiffany made sure to include plenty of gender neutral, outdoor activities that everyone could enjoy! Feminine, polished tea party details combined with miniature golf & fun games make for the best of both worlds! :)
PARTY HIGHLIGHTS to look out for:
- Screen printed tea bag invitations + custom printed snack pouches & tea towel party favors
- Tea cup topped ombre purple ruffle cake with fondant likeness of the birthday girl
- Flower topped cupcakes & hydrangea filled tea cups and vases + DIY doily pom backdrop
PARTY DETAILS as told by Tiffany…
Invitations can really set the tone for an event and during the design process for these invitations, the theme for the party really came into place. Since Audrey was turning two, we were inspired by Doris Day’s song, “Tea for Two” to throw a girly garden tea party. The guest list included a majority of boys, so we took on the challenge to execute a “Tea for Two” party in TWO ways — garden tea time + miniature golf “tee” time! Inspired by Pantone’s color of the year, the vibrant party was set to Radiant Orchid, various shades of purple, and light green.
Each invitation was mailed off in a green box mailer adorned with coordinating stamps and bellybands! As each guest opened the invitation box, they’re greeted by dried purple flowers and the light scent of potpourri. Shifting Status Kuo custom screen printed the giant “tea bags” with a playful rhyme and assembled them with potpourri & sparkly tea tags.
Little Audrey sits on top of her cake in the form of a fondant cake topper and playfully peeks out of the teacup (the dress matches Audrey’s actual party dress!). The gorgeous ruffle ombré cake is surrounded by apothecary jars filled with lush purple & cream hydrangeas. Colorful macarons, mini cupcakes and fruit tarts complete the dessert table. We incorporated handmade paper doily flowers in the backdrop to reiterate the ruffle texture from the cake & hydrangeas while enhancing the tea party feel.
Younger guests enjoyed their tea time snacks with apple juice served in adorable child-sized tea sets! They also got party favors inside the custom screen printed cotton lunch bags (it’s a great alternative to disposable goodie bags). The adults sipped on Passion Fruit Tea, Pineapple Papaya Green Tea, and French Lavender Tea brewed from teapot & teacup shaped tea bags. We couldn’t resist giving out tea towels as a tea party favors so Shifting Status Kuo also screen printed purple & green tea towels for each family.
In between the snacking, the kids ran around the grassy area for a game of miniature golf. Some filled in their scorecards diligently while others just played for fun. Either way, they all had fun practicing their swings while Geronimo balloons’ tassels swayed playfully in the wind.
