PARTY DETAILS, as told by Rebecca

My son Blake turned 3 and specifically requested a “Lorax” party.  He watches the movie ALL.THE.TIME so I was obligated to go along, PLUS we thought it could make a super cute theme.  When we started researching “Lorax”, we came across some darling details by Icing Designs that jump started our inspiration.

Blake’s party was filled with DIY’s..from the treats to the decor we were busy creating.  From the “Barbaloot Bear” Donut Treats, Lorax Stache Lollies, paper flowers, Truffula trees made from wooden dowels and feather boas and puffy felted clouds.  It was a wonderful combo of whimsical details and vibrant colors.  Kids were entertained with pinning the stache on the Lorax and favors consisted of treats from the candy bar along with “Barbaloot Trail Mix” – Chocolate Teddy Grahams and mini marshmallows.  The cake was a 5″ 2-layer cake from Walmart bakery that I had decorated with a green grass top and added on my own DIY yarn poms that I attached to stripey straws complete with a “Blake is 3” banner.  To give the entire sweets table a final touch, we covered it with green paper shreds to resemble a grassy field that could pop right up in Thneedville, springing with paper flowers and truffula trees topped by lofty clouds.

I soooo love this party, esp the use of birght colors and the Dr. Seuss invite! My boys LOVE the Lorax and were actually The Lorax and a Truffula tree for halloween this past year. http://www.doublethegiggles.com/2012/10/the-lorax-easy-homemade-halloween.html
I love that we both used feather boas to create the Truffula tree tufts! So cute – great party feature!
