Glam Beach Party: Old Hollywood + Tiffany Blue
We’ve featured Tiffany-themed parties before (here and here for example) but this is the first one that’s taken place at the beach… how FUN! Shawna of Shawna Brockmeier Styled Events took her daughter’s simple “beach party” birthday request and made it the most dazzling beach party ever. Inspired by the classic styles of Old Hollywood, this Glam Beach Birthday Party not only lives up to its name (lots of sparkle & Tiffany blue), but also remains sweet and age-appropriate (candy necklaces, beach balls & hula hoops)!
PARTY HIGHLIGHTS to look out for:
- A homemade black & white beach tent for some giggly girly time in the shade
- Adorable Tiffany inspired party invitations packaged with sea shells and “diamonds”
- Wooden sail boats for each guest with monogram-embroidered sails
- Tray service of “treats” including candy jewelry in Tiffany & Co. necklace pouches
PARTY DETAILS, as told by Shawna…
My daughter really wanted a beach party this year for her birthday and she loves all things glamorous- so we decided to do a glam beach party!
Invitations
The invitations were placed in bags with glittery blue dresses and filled with seashells and ‘diamonds’ to invite my daughter’s friends to her glamorous beach party.
Decor
I went with an old Hollywood feel using black and white stripes and Tiffany blue to add bling to the party! I designed an ‘A’ framed tent that my fabulous husband built. The tent added shade for the girls to get away and relax in. It also served as a changing area to get dressed up in glamorous tutus and matching shirts that read A & Co. (for Amanda: my daughter’s name and company: her fabulous gal pals). The girls also received pearls, over sized sunglasses, flip-flops and rhinestone tiaras. I made the birthday girl a special fabric crown too! I contacted Andea at Dolce Drive and she designed the most adorable printables to pull my vision together …she even created a black and white tent that matched perfectly to the one I designed!
I am a huge Pottery Barn fan and always look at their designs for inspiration. I found fabulous striped towels at Pottery Barn Teen that matched my color scheme perfectly. Those towels and little, coordinating umbrellas provided a glamorous sunbathing area for the girls!
Table Settings
I brought tables and chairs to set up a glamorous table setting. The girls were served on silver platters with real cloth napkins. My son provided tray service to the girls with a tray filled with candy jewelry and yummy treats! The girls also enjoyed cupcakes, cake and chocolate ice cream served in fancy cups.
Activities
It turned out to be a gorgeous day at the beach – the sun was shining and the water was warm and crystal clear! The girls enjoyed swimming, playing with beach balls and Tiffany blue hula hoops. I made custom sails for small sail boats that they sailed in the tide pools. I also set up a glamorous sand castle area with an Eifel tower and barbies in matching party attire. We had a beautiful day filled with fun for my glamorous, sweet girl and her friends!

This is super cute and fun. The theme of the party plus the beach makes me think of movies from the 50’s, old Hollywood. Love it!
Brilliant! So many lovely details. It would make gorgeous bridal shower as well.
I LOVE this party!! So many adorable details!
Oh my gosh, how I would love to throw a party like this….. problem with living on a small island is acquiring all the lovely goodies to make up the party :( Well done to the creator.
I'll come especially if you make your light as air cupcakes ;-)
Busy baking right now for last day of school tomorrow, doubt that there will be any leftovers for me or you, so will have to make some for us during school holidays….. <3
Thank you everyone for the very kind comments, we had an amazing day! I am so honored to be featured! (:
Wow, I love this party! What a luicky little girl.
Holy awesomeness!!! This is the cutest thing ever!!
I’m a HUGE Tiffany fan! Anything with Tiffany blue & black totally catch my eye! But this…. This party is BEYOND AMAZING!! I had to pick my jaw up off the floor! Excellent job! Everything couldn’t have been more perfect : )
Where can I buy the Tiffany Bags?
Hi Patricia,
I saved the bags through the years (:
Fab!! Where did you get the tent?
Che, I made the tent with technical support from my fabulous husband (:
This is one stunningly gorgeous beach party. Two of my very favorite color combinations.
Shawna,
A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! I love the Cabana meets old Hollywood theme! I plan on copying it for my daughter’s upcoming beach party. I do have a couple of questions about where you purchased things.
Sailboats- I know you said Michael’s. Can you give me more details on what brand? What area of the store?
Your son’s Fedora/Trilby Hat- Where did you find it? I am assuming you made the ribbon band yourself?
Black/White Stripe Beach Chairs- Pottery Barn Kids maybe? This season?
White parasols/umbrellas?
Thanks!
Julie
Thank you everyone for the very kind comments!! (:
Julie, the Sail boats are kits in the wood work section–they are only $1.00!!
My son’s hat is from The Children’s Place–I just replaced the ribbon.
I recovered the beach chairs with extra fabric from the tent…
The umbrellas are just paper parasols that I embellished with coordinating fabric…
I hope this helps! (:
love
Hello,
Such a stunning party. I was wondering if you could tell me where you bought the tiffany blue gumball machines from? They are absolutely adorable and I cannot find them online anywhere.
Thank you so much in advance.
Jeannie
Hi Jeannie,
My Mom found them at Big Lots for a $1.00…..not sure if they still have them but I have also seen them at the dollar Tree in different colors. I hope you find them–good luck!
