From a boxed “fireman’s feast” lunch to an amazing fire hydrant shaped cake, Emily from Frosting & Ink Social Designery really turned up the heat on the popular Fire Truck Birthday Party theme! The walls of the party theme were even lined with brick poster paper to mimic the feel of a real fire house… how FUN!

The vintage fire truck dessert table was definitely the star of this show though… and absolutely filled to the fireman’s-hat-brim with adorable treats like cupcakes topped with tiny fondant fireman hats and fire trucks and kid-sized water bottles aptly labeled “Fire Extinguisher”. I’m also loving the clever names given to some of the sweets – chocolate donuts became “Fire Truck Wheels” and Red Twizzlers were dubbed “Fire hoses”!

“Sound The Alarm, Vintage Fire Truck 4th Birthday Party“

The birthday boy requested a Fire Truck birthday for over a year, so this day has been long anticipated. With his birthday so close to Christmas, we had several challenges between the hustle and bustle that time of year brings for so many people, to the (possible) bad weather. But, we wanted to make it extra special for this sweet boy turning four who has had his heart set on a Fire Truck birthday for so long!

The star of the dessert table was a Vintage Fire Truck given to the birthday boy before he was born, along with the amazing sculpted Fire Hydrant cake by Sugar High and the Fire Truck, Fireman Hat and Fire Hydrant Fondant Cupcake Toppers by Edible Details. The dessert table also included ‘Fire Truck Wheels’ (chocolate doughnuts on a stick), ‘Fire hoses’ (Red Twizzlers), Hot Tamale Candy Boxes and home-made Chocolate Mint Cupcakes. Other pieces used on the dessert table included vintage gas cans, a vintage fire hose, a vintage Coca-Cola Crate and a home-made (courtesy of the birthday boy’s great-aunt) flame-print fabric table cloth.

The children were entertained by cookie decorating and a giant coloring wall banner until the surprise Fire Truck arrived with a safety presentation and time for the children to play on the truck, try on the gear and test the fire hose!

After everybody had a chance to play on the Fire Truck, the children came back inside to individual ‘Fireman’s Feast’ lunchboxes (black bio-pak carryout boxes), which included sandwich quarters, sliced apples and a small bag of chips. They enjoyed drinking from their fire hydrant cups. The party room was wrapped in a brick poster paper to create the impression of a real fire house and decorated with oversized red balloons and child-sized tables and chairs.

The party concluded by diving into the amazing desserts! Party favors consisted of fireman’s badges, temporary fire truck tattoos, and fire truck toys inside of hand-stamped muslin gift bags by Bags By Jen, who created a custom stamp for the bags to match the fire truck used throughout the party and invitation.
