PARTY DETAILS, as told by Vivian

Inspired by the 1992 Movie “A League of Her Own,” I created a unique vintage-style baseball themed party for my daughter’s 8th birthday. Using vintage-style crates, baskets, and miscellaneous props to create a stadium-like atmosphere in our home. A lot of DIY projects – handsewn uniforms, backpacks, trading cards, awning, concession trays, scoreboard and stand, pennant flags and gumball machines, locker cabinet. Kept it simplistic and traditional with snacks that are normally provided at a baseball stadium along with special treats served requested by the birthday girl (lemon raspberry cupcakes and mini cherry cheesecakes). Props were purchased at JoAnns, Michaels, Hobby Lobby, Cost Plus World Imports, and various grocery stores. Some props purchased were recreated to give an old fashioned look. Party attendees were then transported to Minor League Baseball stadium where they watched a game and took pictures in the dugout!

I would love to know what pattern she used for those uniforms! So cute!

Hi Sarah, I ended up having to make up my own pattern. I tried to find a pattern as close to what shape/pieces of the uniform I needed and then tweaked it quite a bit. I had to make up to 3 different sizes to accomodate all 12 girls.

This is easily one of the most inventive party themes I've ever seen. Love it!
