Weekend Handmade by Kelly Wilkinson
Last summer I had the pleasure of meeting blogger Kelly Wilkinson of Make Grow Gather on a super fun & crafty blogger’s weekend graciously hosted by Michaels. I sat next to Kelly at dinner the first night and remember the excitement in her voice as she talked about a book she’d been working on for quite a while that would be published soon… so I’m very excited to share the news of that {genuinely fabulous!} book with you now!
Even at first glance, it’s obvious that Weekend Handmade was a labor of love – the photography and styling is beautiful, and the projects are incredibly creative and well thought out. Here are a few examples that are especially fitting for party lovers… ;)
In staying true to it’s title, each project in Weekend Handmade can be accomplished over the course of just one evening or weekend, and the book is divided into 3 sections: MAKE offers projects to wear or decorate with; GROW presents projects inspired by gardens, fields, and farmer’s markets; and GATHER spotlights projects that enrich casual get-togethers.
Here are a few more personal favorites from the different craft projects… I’m especially loving the flower luminaries!

That mobile over the center of the picnic table is awesome!!
One of 2012 promises, no more books or magazines until iv read and organized the millions I have. Might have to make an exception for this. I have fat girl Sunday the one day the diet isn’t so strict maybe I should have a book Monday where at least I can dream of great books? Good luck!
This girl has has the style that is right after my own heart. Relaxed and earthy, yet colorful and modern. Definitely would love to flip through it’s pages with a cup of tea and a sit by the fire!

Dear Kristin, made your felted cowl with the felted roses. I cannot get it to fall correctly. Ended up with sewing both sides the same. 8 inches down.
