PARTY DETAILS, as told by Nicole

Birthday. Play. Namaste.

Grace’s mommy is a yogi… a bendy, stretchy, sweaty lady that just loves yoga! Grace practices right alongside Mommy, and for that reason, we decided you’re never TWO young for yoga and threw Grace a yoga-themed second birthday! Invitations by i do care designs were printed, rolled in a mini yoga mat, tied up with twine, and placed into boxes with crinkle string and burlap flowers. Also included were pillow boxes requesting donations for Operation Smile, a world-wide organization to provide free cleft lip and palate repairs around the World, in lieu of a gift for Grace! Grace’s cousin, Charlotte, was born with a cleft lip and palate and we all enjoy partying with a purpose… celebrating the Million Dollar $mile way!!

Everyone say, “Yuuuuuummmm!”  Birthday sweets and treats would certainly hinder a healthy, nutritious diet & lifestyle unless you were invited to Grace’s yoga treat table. It was earthy… it was sparkly… it was totally yoga glam!! Thank you Purple Pug for the NAMASTE GRACE banner! A fresh, fruit cake (and not the holiday kind), fresh fruit kabobs made with love by Grandma, and yogurt and granola push pops were all healthy treats for the young yogis! We also asked all our favorite bakers and treat-makers to be creative and conscience while baking. Casey’s Confections used healthy substitutions in her famous sugar cookie recipe to make them a little more guilt-free, yet just as adorable as always. Essence Bakery provided the most flavorful and colorful macarons without any gluten! Mind of Batter created cake pops in the likeness of succulents that were placed in mini terra cotta pots. Carrot cake cupcakes by Sweet Daddy’s were topped with perfection in fondant form. Mimicafe Union breathed life and loveliness into the images from i do care designs creating lotus-topped rolled yoga mats and little yoga divas deep in thought and meditation (I actually think they are dreaming about the macarons and tiny fondant ladybugs that Mimi created too)! A juice bar, featuring NAKED juice chillers and smoothies, were offered in both toddler safe milk jugs or in mason jars with striped-straws and flower-punched tops… all from Petite Party Studio!

Everyone say, “Ummmmmmm!” After everyone’s tummies were full with healthy treats, Tonia led the kiddos in a little ABC’s of yoga session. Colored bracelets and anklets, as well as felt flowers, were given to each child to help them better find their body positions and practice the poses. For example, “Reach your orange arm way up to the sun and stand like a flamingo on your blue foot.” It was quite phenomenal seeing the strength, focus, and flexibility of some of the party-goers! Yay for yoga!

After the session, partygoers were given tools to help them practice at home. Each young yogi received a box of yoga practice cards labeled ‘practice’, a water bottle labeled ‘hydrate’, and a bag of granola labeled ‘nourish’!

Namaste to you… Namaste to you… Namaste Birthday girl, Grace… Namaste to You!!!

So beautiful and adorable. I die over the tiny yoga mats on the dessert table. And you know I am crazy for that watermelon “cake.” So bright, cheerful and peaceful. Honored to be a tiny part of such fabulousness.

Hello! I was wondering where you got the small mats that you used as invitations from or how you made them. I would really appreciate it if you could let me know. Thanks in advance!
