For her daughter Maya’s first birthday, Laila Plant of One Inspired Party was inspired by a show she used to watch titled, “la abejita Maya” which translates to ‘bumblebee Maya.” As a twist on traditional bumblebee themes, Laila expertly incorporated garden details, like that gorgeous hedge wall backdrop & mossy woodland decor, to create this Secret Garden Bumblebee First Birthday Party! I just love all of the sweet floral accents & happy bumblebees — makes for a very happy birthday celebration! :)

PARTY HIGHLIGHTS to look out for:

  • Cupcake flower bouquets with bumblebee cake pops + woodland honeycomb cake with floral accents
  • Secret garden key topped chocolate pretzels & clever one-bite appetizers + pink & yellow place settings

PARTY DETAILS as told by Laila

For my daughter’s first birthday, I wanted to do something special and different. I married my theme when she was born because I grew up watching “la abejita Maya” which translates to ‘bumblebee Maya.” Knowing my theme, I also knew I did not want to do a traditional bee party, I wanted a color palette that had pinks and blues in it as well. I designed the invitation and took it from there. Combining the hive pattern with a floral pattern did the trick and softened up my palette and theme.

With the help of my amazing aunt, we made the florals and slowly the celebration took shape. My absolute favorite part was the hanging umbrellas from the ceiling. Maya loved the fact that they spun!

I love you Maya. Happy first birthday my little busy bee!

Just by looking at the pictures you could tell it is a wonderful party and well planned. Actually I never heard of bumblebee story I really thought it was the bumblebee from transformer and then when I saw the designs its literally the actual bumble bee and it is so cute.
