Popcorn Bars are such a great treat for all kinds of events!

I designed this sweet & savory popcorn bar for a high school graduation party and gave it a modern farmhouse look. (You can see the rest of this fun outdoor graduation party here!)

The size of your popcorn bar can definitely vary… this one was actually a little larger than other popcorn bars I’ve created for more than twice the amount of people. It really just comes down to what YOU really want to include… and to the budget, of course. 😉

As always, printables played a large design role in my styling here. I used them to label popcorn flavors & toppings (which is super helpful for guests!), to personalize some elements, and as general accent decor.

Popcorn Bar Basics

Here’s a generalized list of the things you’ll need for a popcorn bar:

• Lots of POPCORN! Preferably in 3-5 flavors, but you can even do just one
• Popcorn Containers – I used large bushel baskets here.
• Scoops
• Toppings
• Topping Containers & Spoons (or mini scoops)
• Popcorn Seasonings (optional)
• Popcorn Bags
• Printable Labels & Signs
• Napkins
• Decor & Risers (optional – but makes a BIG difference in the look!)

For the risers, I used a black metal wall shelf (found at Marshalls) to hold the popcorn seasoning and an upside-down wood crate to hold the sign. This added some nice height on the left side of the table and balance everything out.

An additional popcorn flavor (Caramel Peanut! 😋) was also packaged in easy grab-and-go bags:

I was super proud of how the large poster design turned out, but definitely wish I had removed the plastic cover from the poster frame so there wasn’t so much glare in the photos! It looked fine in person, but the camera definitely didn’t love the plastic. 🤪

The awesome wood palette table was built by the father of the graduate. They already had it on hand from a previous party, and I was THRILLED to be able to use it for this popcorn bar!

Speaking of which, here are the toppings and flavors we served (and not everything is shown in the photos because they were taken before the final toppings came outside due to heat 🤪)

Popcorn Flavors

Caramel Corn, Confetti Pop, Cheddar Cheese, White Cheddar, and Gourmet White (all from The Popcorn Store in Roseville, CA)

Toppings:

Oreos (crushed), Mini Marshmallows, Reese’s Pieces (chopped), Mini Pretzels, Chocolate Chips, Butterscotch Chips

Seasonings:

Urban Accents Popcorn Seasonings – I found these on Amazon and LOVED that they had great packaging design!!
