4th of July Game Idea: DIY Patriotic Gunny Sack Race
For our “All-American County Fair” 4th of July Party shared earlier this month, we styled a few fun game ideas too – one of them being a Patriotic Gunny Sack Race with DIY Gunny Sacks!
These were so fun and easy to make… look for a few behind-the-scenes pictures and decorating ideas below!
Here we used pillow cases for our gunny sacks (inexpensive and easy to find in your local store or home closet). I bought the cheapest ones I could find at Target. 😉
We used sparkly ribbon, fabric flags, and poms poms to give the pillow cases some patriotic flair! And for an extra hand-crafted feel, we cut burlap into triangles (for a banner), stars, and “USA” letters!
We recommend arranging all your designs first so you’re definitely happy with the placements, then busting out the hot glue gun to quickly make the designs stick.
Here’s a peek at our finished designs. Which one do you like best?
I love them all but am kind of partial to “USA”…. although maybe it’s because that’s the one my daughter jumped with below. ❤️
