marshmallow fondant flowers tutorial

Ready to take your cakes and baked goods to the next level? Because these pretty icing flowers will do just that! 🤩

Even if you’ve never worked with fondant before or are intimidated by the idea of working with it, marshmallow fondant is about to become your sweets decorating BFF.

Made from only THREE ingredients – water, powdered sugar, and marshmallows – it’s also super affordable to make at home! 🙌

Marshmallow Fondant Tutorials

I recently created a series of EASY fondant tutorials for Hershey’s, which are up on Hersheyland.com.

The series covers the basics of fondant (making it, rolling it, coloring it, etc) + step-by-step tutorials for creating simple-yet-adorable fondant roses, sunflowers, daisies, and leaves.

Scroll down for a closer look at what this series will help YOU create!

Pictured above is a variety of my finished icing flowers! I used candy for the center of the larger flowers and teeny-tiny balls of fondant & sugar pearls for the smaller flower ones.

Marshmallow Fondant Recipe

This 3-ingredient recipe is surprisingly quick! The hardest part about it is hand-kneading the powdered sugar. To make this SO MUCH easier, coat your hands with vegetable shortening first.

Coloring Marshmallow Fondant

While the marshmallow fondant recipe is only three ingredients, you’ll want some pretty colors to work with too! So, gel or icing-specific food coloring is another *ingredient* that will come in handy. Learn how to color marshmallow fondant.

Marshmallow Fondant Sunflowers

These 2-layer fondant sunflowers just might be my personal favorite of the flowers. And – YES – the Reese’s Mini Peanut Butter Cup center is a big part of the reason why!

Get the sunflower tutorial here… and try not to eat all the Reese’s Minis while you’re making them. 😋
