Charming Farmhouse Brunch Baby Shower
There’s something so warm and inviting about this darling FARMHOUSE BRUNCH Baby Shower styled by Trish from Frilly Milly Events! And with a menu offering up creative treats like tiny cups of syrup topped with french toast triangles, maple bacon skewers, donut hole “trees”, heath bar coffee cake, and more – better add “mouth watering” to the list of party adjectives too!
I actually don’t think there’s a more fitting way to describe this lovely celebration than in Trish’s own words: “…a “farmhouse brunch” full of the goodness of a hearty brunch like your grandmother would make, but with the dainty-ness that honors the birth of a tiny baby girl.”
Read on for more yummy images and all the party details…
PARTY DETAILS, as told by Trish…

The INSPIRATION
“When I was approached by a friend to style a baby shower she was hosting, they had already established that it was going to be a brunch due to the mother-to-be’s love for breakfast.
From there I began to brainstorm and decided to incorporate vintage items (milkglass cake plates, old tool chest drawers, “milk bottles”, etc.) and turn it into a “farmhouse brunch” full of the goodness of a hearty brunch like your grandmother would make, but with the dainty-ness that honors the birth of a tiny baby girl.
The DECORATIONS
Started with a base of all white (inspired by old milkglass), accented with soft pastels of pink, butter yellow and green. I found an old wooden mirror outside a salvage store for $25 and turned it into a white chalkboard. I debated on listing the menu on the chalkboard, but that seemed too predictable, so we started going through old nursery rhymes as an option. When it came down to it – everyone agreed that the saying we used was one that touched every mother’s heart…so we went with that.
The MENU
Included tiny syrup-filled glasses topped with french toast triangles, maple glazed bacon skewers, assorted mini quiche, frozen fruit cups, “chummies” (hand-dipped decorated oreos), buttermilk biscuits with homemade preserves, my grandmother’s famous heath bar coffee cake, donut hole trees (the mom-to-be loves donut holes) and “milk bottles” filled with milk & oj. The tiny chalkboards that label each item were one of my favorite aspects of the party.”

SMART!!! The french toast is such a cute idea. Love the whole thing.
This is hands down my favorite post yet….and I’ve been obsessed with many. I’m a HUGE fan of brunch and this would have been my personal heaven of a shower. I will SO be using this one and thank you so much for sharing all of this amazing creativity! xo
Love those little chalkboard signs!
Just love all of your ideas!!!!! I am making this Friday a night with the girls at home. And I’ll be using your coffee and dessert idea.
thank you so much
I would love to know how you did the trees. Was it just a cone and toothpics to insert the donuts? Loved it!
Hi Cher@NR! The trees are just white styrofoam cones that I purchased at my local craft store – and then yes, toothpicks and donut holes. I actually did a test run before the party…that way the toothpicks were already in the correct spot (and marked according to color) so that we could quickly assemble them with fresh donut holes the day-of!
I LOOOOVE this!! Everything is beautiful and looks so yummy!!!
Love these brunch ideas! I like how everything is in individual sized servings, gives the table a great presentation and makes it easy to serve too.
Love the donut hole trees and the little chalkboards too. I would love to know where to get those mini chalkboards. Anyone know?
Hi Amy! Thank you for your kind words! I purchased the miniature chalk boards at my local Joann’s store!

I just adore those doughnut hole “trees” with the off-color spiral. Marvelous, and made me immediately begin to puzzle how they did it so well. Thank you for sharing! -LL

Wow, such a cute idea and the table is goorgesss!! I’m planning my friend a baby shower and this has definitely inspired me! I love the milk bottle idea, I would love to do the same but can’t seem to find them anywhere, do you know where I can find the milk bottles?
Hi Noella! Thanks for the compliments! The milk bottles are just starbucks frappuccino bottles that you buy at your local grocery with the labels removed!
ADORABLE!!!
I love all the ideas and i would like know where you got the stripe and pink straws.
This is adorable! I love the french toast serving idea!

LOVE it! It has definatly inspired me. Just wondering….did you have tables with place settings for everyone to sit and eat at? Logistically I am trying to figure out if I need to rent some tables for my upcoming shower!
Thanks in advance
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this!!! I thought it was catered!!! I SO want to do this now!!! And of course, copy everything. Before I read your article, I was wondering what Chummies were…never heard of them! But how did you decorate them? Is that the edible paper or some such thing? I would so love to know how to do them, in case you have tutorial somewhere. Thanks for so graciously sharing the beautiful pics and info, as well as the how.
Do you think it would be “weird” to serve mimosa’s in the milk jars? I was thinking OJ in one and Mimosa’s in the other. Thoughts?
What a clever and fresh new idea for a brunch idea! I am going to host a baby shower soon – love the tiny chalkboards and milk glasses – Ingenius
love the farmhouse brunch.
All the details are so great! Do you know what kind of cups you used for the french toast and fruit? They almost look like shot glass size? Thank you!
Love this idea! I want to do it for my sister, was wondering how I can order the chummies. Also, where did you find the background material. Thanks so much.
Where do you find the milk bottles? I have been trying to find them in bulk?
Hi Tammy –
The “milk bottles” are actually Starbucks frappuccino bottles and the cheapest way to get them in bulk is to actually buy cases of the drink at Costco. It’s about $17/case of 12 at Costco. You’ll need to drink or pour out the actual drink, then soak the labels off. The cost is actually cheaper this way than what you’d pay for plain bottles though. :)

My SIL is having a baby and I am using this theme! What a cute idea!!! Well done on shower.
I LOVE this idea! Did you do anything to keep the juice and milk cold?
Love this idea. Giving a shower on October 15 and we are going to use this theme. We are wondering where you got the metal spoons, the straws and the material. We have been to several places looking for these items but to no avail. Your help will be much appreciated. Thank you

Beautiful shower! I found your blog via Pinterest & I featured a Pinterest inspired baby shower on my blog today. Many of the inspiration pins were taken from your post! :)
Have looked and looked for cute straws to put in my old baby juice bottles to serve punch in. Where did you find them? I’ve Googled and cannot find any. The ones you use are too darling!
If you google pink paper straws you will be able to find them.
Where did you get the tiny chalkboards, or how did you make them? So cute.
Incredible. So girly. Love it.
Hi I thought I share this picture with you. This was my dessert table this year, got the idea from your peppermint twist picture.

I came across your site looking for ideas for a brunch baby shower. I love all your decor and food!!! Any suggestion on how to make it more organic? Thanks!
Every detail is sooo adorable! I am basically stealing all of your ideas for my sister’s upcoming baby shower. I was wondering where you purchased the cute straws.
Hi Carolyn –
Here are a few places you can get Stripey Straws: Shop Sweet Lulu, Can Do Chefs, and Hey Yo Yo.
i absolutely LOVE your site!
So cute! I am getting ready to do a Barbie tea party and was wondering where you got the little mini cups for the fruit and the frenchtoast?
Hi Madisen – I’ve seen those cups at both Party City and Smart & Final :)
Awesome and so simple and cute, going to use this theme for my daughters Barbie birthday coming up! Just wondering where you found the little cups for the fruit and frenchtoast!
How do you make the bacon on a skewer? Would be wonderful to add to my menu on March 11, 2012. Can you help?
Just love the who idea, from menu to presentation…outstanding, cute, very professional looking, and sweet
i just have a question about how do you keep everything warm that needs to stay warm?
PS: It’s beautiful and I would love to try this idea… but still at a loss as to how to keep it warm for guests!
Hello,
I love this idea. I am throwing a baby shower for my aunt. She is having a little boy. I was wondering where you found the straws and glass bottles. I have looked all over for the straws and havent had any luck :( Can you help?
Thank You :)
Hi Arielle –
Those bottles are actually store-bought Starbucks Frappuccino bottles with the labels peeled off :) You can buy them in 4-packs at most grocery stores, Target, or Walmart – and Costco has them in packs of 20 I think. The straws can be found at – and other places if you google “stripey straws”. Hope that helps!
This is the cutest shower I have ever seen. Cute and sophisticated. I have 2 questions. Where did you get the milk bottles and are you going to share the recipe for the health bar coffee cake? Hope so….
where did you get the pink and white straws, as well as the old milk bottles?!
hey, I love all the decorations!! I was wondering, where did you find all the antique looking milk bottles, I can’t find them anywhere
oh never mind, I saw where you commented already on someone’s same question
Beautiful website!…perfectly presented!…Thank you so much!
Not an idea here I didn't absolutely LOVE!
I am in awe of this all and so excited to attempt my first ever shower I am hosting! what recipe did you use for the french toast? and how did you cook the bacon? I have a small house and am afraid it'll smell like bacon!

exquisito todo, muy buen gusto!
How did you make the little decorations on the chummies.
I love your Blog just curious would you mind sharing what recipe used for the french toast? I really wanted to make an overnight French Toast and ideas?
I love this theme idea. However I was trying to think of a way to keep the hot foods hot, while still giving a awesome presentation. Only due to the fact that my shower would be hosting a large amount of guests…..hmm.
This is a wonderful idea that is far from the old paper plated dollar tree decorations…..NOT at all what I would like to have. LOVE IT ALL !!!!!!
I LOVE all of this! I was wondering the recipe you used for the french toast. Did id stay warm? Was it ok cool? I am planning this brunch for about 20 people. Thanks for the amazing ideas!

I dunno but I NEED one!
You can buy chalkboard paint and turn anything into a chalkboard.
I love everything!
Help! I’m throwing a baby shower and would love to serve the French Toast Triangles. Is there a particular recipe you used? How did you keep them warm before and during serving (or are they served room temp?)
Thank you for any help you can give!
I love this so much. I would really like to re create it for my shower. Where did you get the supplies.. Please post some info would love to have something similar.
This is the coolest brunch. Stealing every idea for the brunch we are throwing soon. Thank you!!!!!!!!
Where did you find the mini chalkboards…love them
Hi, how did you do the fruit cups?
This all looks so wonderful! Any ideas about where I can find the mini spoons that are used with the fruit cup? Thank you for these great ideas!
Hi Heather – I think you can find them (or something extremely similar) at Party City. They have a bunch of “mini tasting party” supplies now :) Here’s a quick search on their site:
If you want to buy them online, you can find them here: ($3.99 for 36).
How did you keep the french toast even slightly warm when you served it this way? Or didn’t it matter to you? Also, what size plastice cups are those? They look smaller than usual. LOVED all of your ideas!!
Wish me luck, I’m throwing a shower for my daughter-in-law when she and my son come back for a “shower” weekend. I’m using the chalkboard idea and the donut tree idea! Thanks so much!
Where did you get those little cups? I love this idea! I’m going to “attempt” I hope I get it right!
How did you make the French toast cups? Do you have a recipe?
Where do I get the recipes? I love your presentation!!
Do you have the recipes listed somewhere for the maple bacon appetizer and the quiche as well. They look so good!
Absolutely love this!! Where did u find the tiered desert stand?
I love all the details! Beautiful set up. I am wondering though – were all of the items served at room temperature? Or did you set them out at the very last minute so the food would be warm? This looks so much nicer than having food on warming trays but I’m not sure it would taste as good. I’d love to know how you handled that. Thanks!
I love the single serving of french toast and syrup in a cup! What size cup did you use? I’m planning a baby shower and would love to try to pull this off.
Love the ideas for the brunch! Planning a brunch shower for my daughter in law in August.
Would love the recipes !!
Did your food get cold? I love the display but worried it won’t keep warm.
