This spooky Halloween punch is a guaranteed way to delight your guests!!
I mean… what’s NOT to love about eerie little jack-o-lantern faces peering up at you from a textured, blood-red drink? ;)
Carved apples are the secret sauce here, and they look even better after soaking up the drink for a bit, giving them a truly “bloodshot” look!
Spooky Sangria Punch
***
Ingredients:
- Red Sangria Mixer*, chilled
- Red Wine*, chilled
- Red Apples – 5 or more, small to medium
- Blackberries – 1 container
- Blueberries – 1 cup
- Blood Oranges – 1 or 2
*HOW MUCH wine & mixer do you need?
– The ratio of mixer to wine is 1 to 2.
– Individual servings should be 2-oz mixer + 4-oz wine.
– One full mixer (a 34-oz bottle) should be combined with roughly 3 bottles of red wine and would make (18) 6-oz servings. Adjust to your needs accordingly.
Instructions:
- Cut apples into “jack-o-lantern faces.” First, slice around 1/3 off the front and back of each apple to make it flat on two sides. Remove the stem and remaining peel from the apple. Then, freehand carve a face into one side.
- Cut the leftover apple slices into large chunks.
- Peel the oranges and pull the fruit sections apart.
- Combine all fruit into a large punch bowl (or in a pitcher temporarily for chilling).
- Pour in the red wine and sangria.
- Chill for 1-2 hours.
- Serve and enjoy! Make sure the jack-o-lantern faces are facing upwards.
Make it a Halloween Mocktail
Want to serve this drink without the alcohol? No problem. Just swap out the wine with cranberry juice cocktail, pomegranate juice, or another favorite red juice. You can also add ginger ale or Sprite to make it sparkling!
