Huggies “About to Pop” Blogger Baby Shower {Event Recap}

About to Pop Baby Shower Theme

Earlier this summer, I had the opportunity to attend a fun blogger baby shower event in NYC and lend a hand with some of the party styling. As a SoCal girl myself, I’m not exactly down the street from Manhattan, but give me a good excuse to visit NYC and I’m always game… especially when there are other bloggers and a PARTY involved! This was a whirlwind 32 hour trip from San Diego to NY and back, but sometimes quick adventures are necessary… especially when you’ve got little ones waiting at home. ;)

Popsicle-Inspired “About to POP” Baby Shower

The event was hosted by Huggies® and Tend by Glam, and celebrated the launch of Huggies Baby Shower Planner, which is totally geared around baby shower inspiration. They are also currently hosting a PIN IT TO WIN IT sweepstakes with the chance to win a $1000 Baby Shower – see details at the bottom of this post.

Lauren and Elyssa from Glam did a fantastic job pulling together the kind of baby shower that most women would LOVE to attend… highlights included mini massages (yes, please!), a creative and non-cheesy activity, and some seriously amazing food and drinks – like Strawberry Popsicle cocktails/mocktails and gourmet Mac & Cheese! I worked with them to add some of our popsicle-inspired “About to POP” baby shower theme flair to the party… and also tried my very best to match every single color in the party with one dress. ;)

Here’s a pic of those Strawberry Popsicle drinks I mentioned above – pretty amazing presentation, right?!

Can’t forget to mention the Blueberry Lemonade mocktail either, which was equally gorgeous & tasty…

Onesie Decorating Station

Whatever your opinion on baby shower activities may be, having some sort of group activity for baby shower guests really helps to break the ice – especially when most of your guests don’t know one another already, as was the case here. The level of chatting definitely picked up when everyone was congregated around the Onesie Decorating Station with paint brush in hand

And I really loved that there were fabric stencils to use… this made it super easy and comfortable for everyone to participate, regardless of their innate artistic skills. Added bonus: the finished onesies were arranged into a hanging garland for drying & doubled as super cute party decor during the event! The glittered clothespins didn’t hurt either. ;)

Party Decor & Details

Here’s a peek at some of the decorative details… we used lots of paper decor to keep things easy & effective. This banner is from the HWTM Popsicle Baby Shower collection:

Here’s another shot of the popsicle drinks + a peek at the table portion of the beautiful venue, which was the Rooftop Terrace at the Gramercy Park Hotel:

I embellished a white 8×10 frame with washi tape to make it a little more playful…

Gorgeous flowers and framed party signs added bright pops of color throughout…

Stripe straws with party flags and paper napkin rings were used to quickly jazz up the table place settings. We also used clear plastic plates with printable signs and patterned papers peeking through the bottom – one of my favorite new table styling tricks!

Happy guests getting mini massages…. not a bad party perk, right? ;)

    Please please where did you get stencils?? Am dying to find some to make some onsies for first bubs but New Zealand has very limited resources??

      Hi Camille – Unfortunately I wasn’t the one that bought the stencils, so I can’t say for sure, but I believe that they were just standard wall stencils (not necessarily just made especially for onesies) They have a pretty good selection of stencils at Michaels!
