“In Full Bloom” – A French Bistro Inspired Baby Shower

french garden baby shower "in full bloom" theme
Jessica Wilcox of Modern Moments Designs here, and I’m beyond excited to share something extra special with you today… my very own “In Full Bloom” French Baby Shower! As you may or may not know, my husband and I have three little boys and finally, we’ve been blessed with a little girl who will be arriving in July!

I was so excited when my friends Laura and Lindsey of Double Take Event Styling offered to throw me a baby shower. You may remember Laura’s Chevron Stripe Bridal Shower that I helped style last summer. I knew anything they created would be nothing less than fabulous…

I came up with the theme “In Full Bloom” because I feel like I am definitely in bloom! I designed the shower invitations myself and knew I didn’t want them to be baby-ish, but instead something that could work for many occasions, from baby showers to bridal showers or weddings.

The girls of Double Take Event Styling were inspired by an outdoor French bistro and wanted the feeling of the party to be soft and feminine. We combined our two ideas and came up with the most beautiful baby shower ever… not that I’m biased or anything! wink ;)

A large wooden pink frame adorn with an array of vintage floral plates created the perfect backdrop!

Baskets and flowers were scattered throughout to create a fresh market feel. Silver trays were also used as layering pieces to give the party an upscale french vibe.

The girls even styled a mini bistro table set for two! How cute is this?

We were so lucky to work with the best vendors and many of them are also my clients too. Several of them were kind enough to either trade or donate products to make this event so special. It means a lot to be able to showcase each of their talents too! A special thanks to Arika of Sugar & Salt Bakery & Catering for the incredible mini fruit tarts and banana cupcakes. They looked and tasted amazing and she’s local to Portland too.

One of my favorite things from the shower was the DIY Headband Kit which was donated by my client and dear friend, Lori of LB Boutique.

We wanted to make sure the headbands were properly displayed so with help from Julie of Totes in Tow (and a tutorial found on pinterest too) we created these amazing headband towers. The bases were two candle holders from Pottery Barn. How fun that each guest got to make her a custom headband! They are so beautiful that I am planning on displaying these in her room.

My adorable sister-in-law Tiffany, of Fresh Memories Studio was kind enough to make the ruffle cake which we decorated with fondant flowers from Charynn of Two Sugar Babies. She also created the beautiful fondant cupcake toppers.

The cake pops were also kindly donated by Poppies Cake Pop which came beautifully packages. They were perfectly decorated and tasted amazing. You will have to take my word for it because the sun wasn’t so kind on the clarity of the photos.

The Country Barrel donated these awesome mason jar frog lids. They were super easy to use. They are also offering Hostess Blog Readers a 25% off coupon code to use in their shop. Make sure you type in HWTM25 when checking out.

SPECIAL THANKS

I’d like to thank Laura, Lindsey, and D’Lorah for all of their hard work, time, and effort for making this shower so beautiful and special to me. We wouldn’t have these amazing photos either if it wasn’t for my bestie, Courtney of Courtney Jade Photography. Thanks girl for always capturing the important moments in our lives. Thank you to Maria and Heidi for putting me together that morning. You guys made me look good! And a special thanks to everyone else who helped make my shower so perfect!

There are so many other details that I’d like to point out, but instead of making you read I invite you to check out the rest of the photos below… ;)

I just HAVE to know where you got the glasses. My sister and I had the same ones when we had our first apartment together and it broke her heart when they got broken. I would offer a handsome sum to have more.

absolutely gorgeous!! What font did u use for the printables?

  17. Jessica Wilcox November 2, 2012 at 4:21 pm

Hey everyone! I see a ton of comments on the green dishes. Laura’s Mom has been collecting them at antique stores for years! The backdrop was made by Laura’s Father-in-Law. The one who also made her fabulous photo booth backdrop! Sorry I couldn’t be more helpful, but maybe that will narrow your hunt!
