PARTY DETAILS, as told by (mommy!) Jackie

The theme was Up inspired (with all the balloons and rainbow colors) and also some cute owls.

We had a special rainbow inspired dessert bar with 6-flavored macaroons of every color of the rainbow and mini cupcakes along with delicious Oreo truffles.

The rainbow balloon centerpieces were handmade by me.

We designed “Fun Facts about Lily” cards with photos on the other side around the room so people could get to know more about Lily.

The party favors cookie jars (with the secret ingredient of love and kisses from Lily) and kiddie goodie bags were all done by us parents (along with the banners).

My sister and I made the banners, and I made the display cake.

I also made water bottle labels for the water bottles – I had big and small water bottle.

Ok, I need to know how you made the rainbow balloon centerpieces!! I’ve spent the past hour looking for house shaped cut outs, frames or crafts and am having no luck. I have the UP house and balloons in the twins room and they turn 1 in Dec… I think it’s a must to have their party UP themed :)

Hi Rita, I’m sure you could use tutorial we have here: https://www.hwtm.com/2012/01/diy-tutorial-creative-yarn-chandelier/. I hope this helps, good luck and have FUN! :) I would recommend a cute birdhouse or decor item from Homegoods or Michaels and attach these balloons with pictures and voila!

Hi Rita! I made the balloons by using the embroidery thread dipped in watered down glue wrapped around water balloons that I blew up! Yarn would be too thick for the small scale I was working with and it didn’t look as delicate as I wanted it to be. I also use little silk flowers from Michaels for the bottom part of the balloons, and I just hot glued it to the bottom. For the house, I used wooden bird houses from Michaels and I painted them white! =) Good luck and have fun!!!
